Same Grace

As a Christian, I believe we are brought into a relationship with God by grace through faith. This is a gift from God, who reaches down to scoop up his children and love them to himself. If we know God through his son Jesus Christ, it is a gift of God that has caused it. He calls us to Himself, and he blesses us with his presence. The same grace that rose Jesus from the dead after his horrific sacrificial death on a Roman cross is applied to us by faith. God's unmerited favor is poured out over all of creation through the blood of Jesus, and those who place their trust in Christ's work of salvation have the same grace that was poured out through Jesus, applied to them. That grace brings repentance. That grace brings salvation. That grace brings deliverance and freedom. That divine grace also bears gifts that are not of this world but are born of the Spirit, and those gifts are given to all who trust in Christ. This same grace does not bring identical gifts to people, but ones that are unique to us—just as we are a unique gift to the world.

God,in his mercy, does not give us what we deserve. Instead, he gives us peace with God through the same grace. God gives us freedom from addiction as we submit to him. God unleashes his power to survive in the worst situations humanity can bring about, and even though we are hard-pressed, we are not crushed as we stand in his grace— and we can only stand by his grace, with his power. As we grow in faith, maturity comes through the grace God pours out. He gives his unmerited favor and also gives tasks he wants us to accomplish for him. These things of grace are not what we might imagine—they are divinely inspired works to advance the kingdom of God on earth. They are tasks over flowing with the same grace applied to the workers that will be applied to recipients who are yet to hear of this love of God.

We live and breathe and move by the grace of God.

It is a sad day when we, who have the grace of God applied to our lives, forget that the same grace has been given to others as well. When we stand above people instead of beside them, when we forget our constant need for forgiveness, mercy, and grace. We can become arrogant and forget our position as people who need the same grace every other soul on this planet needs. We forget that we are mere beggars who have been scooped up by the love of God and washed by the same grace.

Who in your world needs to hear about this God of love who has adopted you and longs to adopt them as well? Who needs a new beginning? The real question is: Can I love them with the same grace that has been applied to me?
