Cameron Lost— When Found is Different Than You Believe.
Not Linear, But Read to the End to Really Get the Story
“Author Craig Matthews has a storytelling gift. From the first chapter Craig pulls you in. This mystery isn't a murder who dun it kind of story. That's what I expected. Not necessarily murder. But evidence, clues, deception. deduction.
It's not that format.....well, not exactly that format.
Rather, take a shattered life and turn it into the pieces of a kaleidoscope, that's what this book is like. It's story as it is presented in a mixed up timeline that fills your mind with questions.
Trying to put the hero's pieces together is a joyful reader undertaking. This mix of fraternity, frivolity, fellowship, funkiness, and faith is a first for me as a reader.
But what leaves me most in awe is Craig's ability to weave a life story and bring it from sin to redemption in a few pages.
The world building of hiking also impressed me as the lifestyle of trail life and the beautiful scenery of Michigan come into full focus in these pages.
I think the biggest complement is that I read this in stages with a deadline. But about half through my plan, I just couldn't not put it to bed.
So many questions unanswered, I felt compelled to keep reading. Not only that, but the charm of the tale...and the throwback to a long ago poem sucked me right in.
Then, I saw the book for what it was, the kaleidoscope of the author's private and public life. And found was different from what he had anticipated.”
