“___________'s Powerful Delusion.”

“I’ve set up ________ as my idol.

The APEX idol.

The ONE who can deliver me from loneliness, failure, turmoil, and insignificance.

__________will grant me acceptance to finally prove me worthy of love.

In reality, I (we) am (are) seeking to be worshiped for my (our) mind,or my (our) body, or my (our) spirit.

I could never fulfill this god role. Period.

_________ Idol is unable to perform the tasks necessary to save me, or even to grant me acceptance, affection, appreciation, or the attention I crave.

Even though I lay my life before _________ , it remains an unquenchable LIE.

_________ is a LIAR.

Only God can do these things.

Only God has done these things for us through his Son, Jesus.

Only God continues to work this out in the lives of his disciples through His Holy Spirit.

_________ is a powerful delusion who keeps our lives running in pursuit.

_________ seeks to own your heart, without the ability to bless your heart.

What is the lie _________ promises you?

In truth, I need Jesus to overcome my __________.

Of course I cannot come out and say these things—they sound crazy! But I can live like it is true in my heart, harboring a lie because of a vow, wounds, or trauma, I’ve endured.

The Cross of Jesus calls us to come and die. To lay down our __________.

In so doing, we are promised life.

An abundant life bathed in unconditional love in exchange for a lie.

Seems like an obvious choice.

What’s your ________ ?

Lessons in life will be repeated until they are learned.”
